Teaching assistant- Level 3

We wish to appoint an experienced L3 Teaching Assistant with an interest in supporting pupils across the primary range. Candidates would also demonstrate a willingness to support pupils in a range activities. This job is term time 36 weeks per year plus holiday pay.

Experience of dyslexia and dyspraxia would be useful.

Mon- Fri: 9-1pm (possibility of an extra afternoon interested- an extra 3-6 hours a week)

ESSENTIALS

Qualifications/Attainment:

Evidence of attainment in a recognised TA qualification ie NVQ, , City and Guilds or BTEC.

A good standard of education, particularly in English and Mathematics.

Willingness to participate in further training and developmental opportunities offered.

Experience:

Relevant experience in an educational establishment

Demonstrable evidence of establishing positive relationships with children.

Demonstrable evidence of experience in supporting children in a learning environment.

Skills:

Ability to demonstrate active listening skills

Ability to use language and other communication skills to which children can relate.

Ability to empathise with the needs of the children.

Ability to work effectively with other colleagues.

Ability to provide appropriate levels of individual attention, reassurance and help to achieve the intended learning outcomes.

Ability to undertake observations of individual children and complete records under the direction of the teacher.

Attitude/Approach:

Willingness to be professionally discreet and to maintain confidentiality on all matters

Willingness to adopt a flexible approach to all directed tasks

Willingness to work as part of a team

DESIRABLE

Knowledge of appropriate First Aid procedures.

Knowledge of Child Protection issues
