CONTRACT: Fixed Term Contract until 31st August 2019 in the first instance.  

WORKING PATTERN: 35 Hours per week (8:00am – 3:30 pm) term time only or will consider applications to job share this role (either mornings or afternoons or 2/3 days per week) 

SALARY:                           TA Level 2 Grade 3 Points 12-16 (£17,173 – £18,319)                                             pro-rata £14,327 - £15,283 actual ( 35 hours per week, pro rata for job share)

START DATE:                   ASAP  

Do you have experience of working with secondary age children or are you an individual with good subject knowledge in either Maths or English looking to gain experience in a school environment.  Could you deliver a variety of literacy and numeracy related learning activities and interventions in order to raise standards of literacy and numeracy across our school?

You will be located in Didsbury, (often voted as one of the most popular places to live in Manchester) only a short walk from the vibrant shops, bars and restaurants of Didsbury village. You will also have access to excellent transport links to Manchester city centre and surrounding areas.  

You will complement the professional work of teachers by taking responsibility for agreed literacy and numeracy interventions. This may involve preparing and delivering learning activities for individuals/groups or for whole classes, including the use of IT packages. In addition, you will also be responsible for monitoring students and assessing, recording and reporting on students’ achievement, progress and development.  You will work across the age and ability range with students in order to improve their attainment.   

You should:

 • Have experience of working with secondary age children or have good subject knowledge in Maths or English 

• Have excellent literacy and numeracy skills 

• Have good communication skills 

• Have good IT skills 

• Have the ability to manage student behavior 

• Have an adaptable and flexible approach

• Be pro-active with the ability to act on your own initiative 

• Be able to establish good working relationships with students, staff and parents
