Are you an experienced and capable Teaching Assistant looking to develop your career further? Could you deliver a variety of literacy and numeracy related learning activities and interventions in order to raise standards of literacy and numeracy across our school?

You will complement the professional work of teachers by taking responsibility for agreed literacy and numeracy interventions. This may involve preparing and delivering learning activities for individuals/groups or for whole classes, including the use of IT packages,. 

In addition, you will also be responsible for monitoring students and assessing, recording and reporting on students’ achievement, progress and development.  You will work across the age and ability range with students in order to improve their attainment.   In addition, you must be willing to undertake emergency first aid training.  

You should:  

• Have experience of working as a Teaching Assistant in secondary schools or be a graduate in a relevant discipline e.g. English or Maths 

• Have good literacy and numeracy skills 

• Have excellent communication skills 

• Have good IT skills • Have good behavior management skills 

• Have an adaptable and flexible approach 

• Be pro-active with the ability to act on your own initiative 

• Be able to establish good working relationships with students, staff and parents .
