CONTRACT: Fixed Term Contract until 31st August 2019 with the possibility of extension.  

WORKING PATTERN: Either 35 Hours per week (8:00am – 3:30 pm) to undertake Literacy and Numeracy or 2 posts job sharing 17.5 hours per week to undertake either Literacy or Numeracy (either mornings/afternoons or 2.5 days per week  

SALARY:                           TA Level 2 Grade 3 Points 12-16 (£17,173 – £18,319)                                             pro-rata £14,327 - £15,283 actual for full-time role

Do you have experience of working with secondary age children or are you an individual with good subject knowledge in either Maths or English looking to gain experience in a school environment.  Could you deliver a variety of literacy and/or numeracy related learning activities and interventions in order to raise standards of literacy and numeracy across our school?

 You will be located in Didsbury, (often voted as one of the most popular places to live in Manchester) only a short walk from the vibrant shops, bars and restaurants of Didsbury village. You will also have access to excellent transport links to Manchester city centre and surrounding areas.  

You will complement the professional work of teachers by taking responsibility for either literacy or numeracy interventions or both if undertaking the full-time role. This may involve preparing and delivering learning activities for individuals/groups including the use of IT packages.

In addition, you will also be responsible for monitoring students and assessing, recording and reporting on students’ achievement, progress and development.  You will work across the age and ability range with students in order to improve their attainment.   

You should:  

• Have experience of working with secondary age children 

• Have good subject knowledge in either Maths or English (or both for full-time post) 

• Have excellent literacy or numeracy skills (or both for full-time post) 

• Have good communication skills 

• Have good IT skills 

• Have the ability to manage student behavior  

• Have an adaptable and flexible approach 

• Be pro-active with the ability to act on your own initiative 

• Be able to establish good working relationships with students, staff and parents
