Formby High School is a heavily oversubscribed 11-18 mixed comprehensive academy with 1,100 students (including over 230 in sixth form). The school’s motto ‘determined to achieve’ is central to our vision for all aspects of school life, in and out of the classroom, and across the community. The school employs over 140 dedicated and highly effective teaching and support staff who work closely with parents to achieve the best possible outcomes for our students. Formby High School was judged to be Good across all areas in the most recent Ofsted inspection (November 2022). The report highlights how our students are ‘inspired to succeed’ and ‘proud to attend their school’.
Formby High School was named TES Inclusive School of the Year in June 2023. We are extremely proud of this accolade which highlights our inclusive, supportive and tolerant culture. In September 2024, our ‘Reaching High’ SEN Unit will open, and a building project is underway to provide a purpose-built, nurturing, learning space for these young people which will open later in the academic year.

Where are we?
Based in the beautiful coastal town of Formby, about 15 miles north of Liverpool, with good road links (M57/M58) and within 5 minutes walk from Formby and Freshfield train stations, we want to attract the very best teaching and support staff to our school.
We are looking for a Teaching Assistant who is:
