Job overview

We require, as soon as possible, a committed and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join this Outstanding (OfSTED April 2011), lively and successful 11-18 Secondary School.  

We are looking for a Teaching Assistant to work within a very successful inclusion department. You will work collaboratively with the ENCO, Teaching Assistants and whole staff to provide support for students across the 11-18 age range. Candidates should have experience of writing and co-ordinating TAFs (or Local Authority equivalent) and have an understanding of multi-agency screening tools.  

The successful applicant will work with Year Leaders to support students who require additional and different support in order to achieve.  

The hours of work for this academic year 2017 - 2018 will be 22 ½ hours, reducing to 15 hours per week from 1st September 2018.

Bishop Heber High School is a mixed, non-denominational comprehensive school with a sixth form, there are 1280 students on roll aged 11-18. It is situated in the picturesque village of Malpas. Malpas is a large village placed deep in the south Cheshire countryside. There are several pubs in the village as well as good quality local shopping. Malpas also hosts a regular Farmers’ Market. If you are looking to explore, Malpas is a great base for sightseeing with Cheshire, Shropshire and North Wales just a stone’s throw away. Practically on your doorstep is the famous city of Chester, you can reach the city in 30 minutes and explore all the historic sites.
