Previous experience of working in a similar role would be beneficial or be an undergraduate in Psychology or equivalent. 

Vision for Education are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and creative teaching assistant. You will be working at a school in Cheshire and starting immediately after half-term.

The role

The successful candidate must demonstrate dedication to the job. You must have a passion for helping pupils learn and assisting them in subjects that prove to be difficult to understand. You must also have patience and understanding especially when it comes to dealing with pupils who are struggling. The chosen candidate should promote positive attitudes to learning and all aspects of school life and be keen to develop your own skills and knowledge of key strategies.

Requirements

To be considered for the Teaching Assistant position, you will:

• Recording and reporting a pupil’s progress to the classroom teacher

• Helping pupils stay focused during class hours

• Have experience working with either with small groups or 1:1 with students who may demonstrate challenging behaviour and who may have Special Educational Needs. 

• Be able to provide a safe and positive learning environment and de-escalate any threatening or aggressive behaviour.
