Job overview
We are seeking to appoint a talented and dedicated Teaching Assistant to provide first-class teaching and learning support to our students. This is a rewarding opportunity for an enthusiastic and highly organised individual with a ‘can do’ attitude to join a very successful and happy school. Hours are flexible, with a minimum of 3 days per week.

You will have excellent communication and IT skills and the ability to work well in a team. Applications are welcome from individuals who are keen to gain experience prior to teaching, social work, or youth work training.
You will be joining a supportive and committed team, who share a passion for ensuring the needs of all our students are met, breaking down any barriers to learning, ensuring that all students make the progress they are capable of.

About The Thomas Aveling School
The Thomas Aveling School is a mixed, non-selective, non-denominational secondary school with sixth form situated in Rochester, Kent. It is an academy converter supported by a multi-academy trust called Fort Pitt Thomas Aveling Academies Trust, which supports four other schools around the country. The school will provide 1,080 places for secondary and sixth-form students between the ages of 11 and 18 when fully subscribed.
Previously a Technology College and Training School, Thomas Aveling converted to an academy in September 2011.

The Thomas Aveling School has the highest expectations of its students, helping them fulfil their maximum potential while developing them into responsible young adults. Aspirations are raised to ensure that students can go on to be successful in higher education and the outside world.
