The International School Eindhoven has a temporary job opening for a part time Teaching Assistant to support students with their reading development.

The job

The successful candidate will collaborate with the reading coordinator and classroom teachers to provide small group targeted reading support and intervention for students in need of additional reading support. It is essential that candidates have experience with supporting primary students with their reading development.

Applicants, under the direction and guidance of the reading coordinator and class teacher, will:

  • Assist in the reading development of students;
  • Support students with their educational needs;
  • Facilitate small group phonic lessons;
  • Conduct assessments, observations and related administrative tasks;
  • Care for students in case of accidents;
  • Team up with other professionals.

What can you expect from us?

  • A friendly and supportive staff and motivated students who are eager to learn;
  • A temporary appointment until the end of the school year 2023;
  • Grading scale takes place in scale 4 (min. €1942,- max €2692,- at 1.0 FTE);
  • The current collective agreement for primary education (CAO PO) is applicable for this role.

This is what we ask of you

  • Eligible to work in the EU;
  • A fluent English speaker;
  • Previous experience working as a teaching assistant in an educational setting;
  • Previous experience of supporting students with their reading development is essential;
  • Being creative and flexible;
  • Being patient and well-organised;
  • Being energetic, responsible and able to work effectively within a team.
