Acorn Education Trust is seeking to appoint a caring and dedicated Teaching Assistant to support learners within our nurture base onsite at New Close Primary School. These students all have social and emotional needs and/or an Autistic Spectrum Disorder which affects how they access the curriculum.

Usual working weeks: 39 weeks;  Usual hours of work: 25 hours per week (This is a term time only position)

 The post holder’s responsibilities include providing general classroom support, the meeting of the student’s emotional and social needs and liaising with other teaching staff in the development and delivery of a differentiated curriculum.

This is a wonderful opportunity to join our dedicated team in Link 2 nurture base. We are immensely proud of this provision and are looking for staff who are committed to helping all children and young people feel engaged, challenged, and able to make excellent progress.

Link 2 is based at New Close Primary School situated in Warminster in beautiful rural Wiltshire. It is a setting which accommodates children from across our primary schools in the Acorn Education Trust; a multi-academy trust consisting of 9 primary school and 2 secondary schools. It provides exciting opportunities to improve local education and draw on the collective experience of a trust.

 We would like to hear from you if:

  • Have at least grade C in GCSE English and Maths or equivalent;
  • Are confident, resilient and have excellent communications skills;
  • Are good at building relationships and are a team player;
  • Are organised and enthusiastic;
  • Have experience of working with children in a school environment (desirable but not essential)
