25 hours per week (8.50am to 12.30pm and 2pm to 3.20pm Monday to Friday)
Salary Range 2 (Band 1 Medium): £20,472 - £22,337 pro rata p.a.
Barrow Hill Junior School is just two minutes from St John's Wood Underground station and within speedy reach of the West End, mainline stations and all major bus routes. Lord’s Cricket Ground is virtually next door and Regents Park is two streets away. It is a very happy, ambitious and sparky two-form entry school with 240 Key Stage 2 pupils. It’s popular and well-loved locally.
We are a ‘Good’ school aiming for ‘Outstanding’. Our Reading, Writing and Maths results are in the top 20% nationally. Our attendance is the best in Westminster and behaviour is excellent – come and see for yourself! We have earned our reputation because we focus on standards, creativity, care and respect in equal measure. This year we have added a bespoke science lab and a sports pitch to go along with the existing learner swimming pool and ICT suite: our facilities and classrooms are great to work in.
Our school community is a global one with children with connections from all over the world. We have a comprehensive intake with a mixed socio-economic background. There are over 30 different language backgrounds in the school with links countries from all over the world. Behaviour of children in our school is excellent. We are looking to recruit an additional Teaching Assistant. We have been very fortunate to have recruited a high calibre of staff to the support staff team; they are and have been individuals who have high expectations of themselves and others, who are eager to develop skills, knowledge and competencies, and who are willing to pursue training to become better equipped and informed in their role.
