We are seeking to appoint a Teaching Assistant to join the Inclusion team at Coombe Dean School in Plymouth, part of the Westcountry Schools Trust.

You will be the adult keyworker for a Year 8 student, supporting their learning both within and outside the classroom and during unstructured times to support the development of their social skills. You will work under the direction of the Deputy SENCo but will be primarily responsible for:

- decision-making about this student

- helping them to develop strategies to increase their resilience and emotional regulation.

You will support them to access review meetings and help to give them a voice around the school ensuring that they can access the full breadth of the curriculum inside and outside the classroom.

About Coombe Dean School

As a school, we have much to be proud of. We work hard at fostering positive relationships with pupils and families alike and this supports a safe and calm learning environment for our pupils. We value the consistency and transparency of a very simple behaviour system that is built around mutual respect and learning how to get things right rather than being told what you have done wrong. The strong pastoral provision supports our pupils throughout their education journey, starting from transition from primary school and through to employment, further education and training.
