Job overview

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and committed Teaching Assistant. 

The purpose of the post is to develop culture of reading across the academy and be additional capacity to the SEN Department to deliver specific reading interventions .You will also demonstrate positive attitudes, values and behaviours to develop and sustain effective relationships with the school community. The post holder will deliver a tailored reading curriculum to the groups and support individual learning for other students, in liaison with teaching staff.

Working Requirements: 34.5 Hours Per Week, Term-Time Plus 5 Insets, Mon-Thurs 8.15am-3.45pm, Fri-3.15pm

Salary: F015S (£22,298) – F019S (£24,569) (pro rata – Actual £18,194-£20,047)

Fulwood Academy opened on 1st September 2009 replacing Fulwood High School and Arts College, an established and successful 11-16 Secondary School situated in North Preston. In June 2023 Ofsted rated Fulwood Academy as "Good" in all areas, in the report they said:

  • Pupils are calm, polite and they benefit from the positive relationships that they have with staff.
