Clarendon Academy is seeking to appoint a caring and dedicated Intervention Teaching Assistant to support students in the reading intervention in the Learning Hub. The rewarding role involves working with students, leading daily group reading. You will be delivering a reading programme to help learners make literacy progress and will be able to make a real difference to our learners school lives. You will be working in the Learning Hub, alongside a dedicated team of other intervention teaching assistants and the wider SEND team.

Working Hours: 30 hours per week, 39 weeks per year (term time + 1 week)

This is a wonderful opportunity to join our dedicated team of Teaching Assistants. The SEND team continues to grow and offers a supportive environment for staff to grow and develop their career.

Working within the Trust provides support and career opportunities for progression. The school is based in the county town of Trowbridge, in beautiful rural Wiltshire, and is in easy commuter distance from Bath.  We pride ourselves on being a centre of excellence and a place where young, enthusiastic children enter in Year 7 and leave us at the end of Year 13 as fully rounded young adults.

Please note this is a fixed term contract that ends at the end of the academic year (July 2023).

We would like to hear from you if you:

  • Have at least grade C in GCSE English or equivalent;
  • Have a passion for supporting children and their development;
  • Are confident, resilient and have excellent communication skills;
  • Are good at building relationships and are a team player;
  • Are organised and enthusiastic;
  • Have experience of working with children in a school environment; (desirable but not essential).
