New school - unique opportunity 

Grove Academy is an exciting new free school which opened in September 2017 and is the first all-through school to open in Slough. Our permanent site will be in the Chalvey area of Slough and we will be based on a central Slough location until that is built. 

We are looking for an experienced teaching assistant to support our Reception children. The successful candidate will be a happy, caring and enthusiastic person who will work closely with the class teacher to provide an exciting learning environment. You will need to demonstrate the ability to build effective relationships with pupils to support them not only in their learning but also in developing their social skills. You should have effective communication skills and a willingness to contribute to the overall ethos and aims of our school.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has recent relevant experience of working in an Early Years setting
  • Is a proactive and flexible team player
  • Is able to use their own initiative to support children’s learning.

Grove Academy is the first all-through school to open in Slough and provides opportunity and education for 4 to 16 year olds, underpinned by high-quality teaching and learning and a common assessment framework. This continuity ensures that we can avoid the dips in performance associated with transition from one phase or school to another.

As one school we are able to teach subjects to our younger children via specialist subject teachers, such as modern foreign languages and PE. We can provide pastoral care for children in challenging circumstances by offering a ‘joined-up’ strategy and support families more consistently over a longer time.
