Full time (40 hours per week)

We are looking for a passionate Teaching Assistant, As a Teaching Assistant you will need to have a passion for working with young people and want to make a difference in people’s lives. The young people that you will be working with, have behavioural problems and have experienced trauma and so we would require an individual who will bring positive commitment to young people and has an awareness of their issues.

The children that you will be working with are both male and female and aged between 11 – 18 years old. Red Rose School provides an alternative to mainstream education, offering learner’s the opportunity to work with specialist trained staff in a small group setting and our aim is to support young people re-engage with education and community life.

Ideally, the right candidate will have experience in assisting people with literacy and numeracy skills however, experience is not essential. You will be a part of a dedicated team of professionals who will offer you clear guidance and mentor you in to this role. The successful candidate will complete a highly comprehensive induction program as-well as on-going training throughout their employment.

We are looking for a Teaching Assistant who will:

Support groups of students in lessons or 1:1 situations both on and off site.

Assist the Teacher/Tutor in the preparation of work.

Support students to make progress in formal learning situations as well as with self-help skills, life skills and social understanding.

Build successful relationships with our students to enable them to make progress despite their barriers to learning.

Understand the complexities of our students and support them to make progress with their personal development.

Manage a range of behaviours as part of a skilled and supportive team.

Support in administrative duties as necessary.

Engage with career and training development
