The school delivers holistic and integrated programmes of education, therapy and personal development for its students.

We are seeking a Teaching Assistant (TA) to work with students in our Senior School (Year 7 and above) to provide support to a class of up to twelve pupils and work as part of a multidisciplinary team that includes teachers, SENCos and Therapists.

The ideal candidate will be:

  • Collaborative and enjoy a true team approach
  • Have experience in and a passion for working with students with SEND

The school delivers an Initial Teacher Training programme to gain teaching qualifications, as well as hands-on therapeutic experience which may interest those candidates who are looking to pursue a career in Teaching, Therapy or Educational Psychology in the future.

The main purpose of the role is to support the students to access the teaching and learning provided and to assist the Classroom Teachers, Therapists and Wellbeing Team in supporting pupils academically and therapeutically. The context for this work is varied, encompassing both the classroom and educational experiences beyond the classroom.

All staff are encouraged and enabled to take part in additional training to become qualified in supporting the needs of learners with SpLD, Autism and other associated needs.

AHSC is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of students. As such, safeguarding checks will be undertaken prior to an offer of employment or volunteer position being confirmed.
