Experiences beyond the classroom are paramount and are given high status at Maltby Lilly Hall Academy, both locally and further afield. Our annual residential trips to Bamburgh (Y5) and London (Y6) provide cultural enrichment and memorable experiences for our children. Other trips or experiences brought into school are linked closely to topic work and regularly occur across school. We guarantee certain experiences in each key stage as

laid out in our ‘Maltby Lilly Hall Academy Passport’ document which is distributed to every child.

Every child who comes to Maltby Lilly Hall is unique. They come to school with their own combination of experiences, understanding and learning which it is our job, and privilege, to build upon. We believe that every child has the right to make the most of their abilities and fulfil their potential.

We encourage children to have the confidence to explore and experiment as they work to develop their talents and achieve their full potential through a well-balanced, broad and creative curriculum tailored to the needs of every child. To this end, we have worked hard to develop opportunities for our children to experience learning through first-hand experience as well as using teaching strategies which encourage questioning, curiosity and a sense of ownership.

Our weekly varied Enrichment clubs provide chances for children to experience new challenges or hone their skills in ones they already know.

We analyse children’s strengths and weaknesses on a daily basis and our teaching and planning evolve to ensure children of all abilities are set to not only progress academically but enabling them with all the skills necessary to succeed in the wider world.
