We are looking for an inspirational Teaching Assistant with a passion for supporting exceptional children and a creative approach to meeting needs and enhancing curriculum delivery. Peterhouse School offers a rich and ambitious curriculum for all our learners to best equip them for the future. We have high expectations for learners' progress in the core areas of interaction and communication, cognition, physical development, social, emotional, and mental health, as well as self-help and independence. Every pupil has a personalised curriculum that is closely aligned with their education, health, and care plan (EHCP). Our high-quality curriculum is led by our expert teaching staff but is created collaboratively with parents, carers, and other professionals and specialists as needed.

What is the role?
Peterhouse is seeking to appoint a talented and motivated Teaching Assistant to join them in September. Our successful candidate will offer our pupils the best teaching and learning experiences and opportunities, ensuring they achieve the excellent outcomes they deserve. Having experience of working with learners with autism is essential, and our successful candidates will be selected based on their commitment and enthusiasm to learn and apply new skills to achieve the very best for our learners and their individual development. Due to the growth of the school, we are looking to appoint from a range of experience:
- Mainstream teaching assistants who have knowledge and understanding of different phases and educational settings.
- Teaching Assistants with expertise in working with pupils/students with high needs ASC
- Teaching Assistants who would be able to support across a range of phases and subjects

Peterhouse is a non-maintained specialist school for children and young people aged 5 to 19 with a diagnosis of ASC. The school was established in 1974 and is administered by the charity Autism Initiatives. We use a highly individualised, strength-based approach to meet the often complex needs of our young people, aiming to prepare each one of them to become a successful autistic adult. Our provision is continually developing, responding to the changing needs or our cohort as well as to developments in autism research. Our staff are reflective practitioners, keen to learn and develop their skills.
