About Us

The Motiv8 School is an independent special school for up to 20 pupils aged 14–16 with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), including Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, autism, and communication or learning difficulties.

We provide a nurturing, individualised learning environment focused on preparing young people for life beyond school, promoting resilience, confidence, and independence.

Could you make a difference to a young person who needs a different approach to education?

The Motiv8 School is looking for a committed, resilient and compassionate Teaching Assistant (Level 2/3) to join our team and provide dedicated support to a Key Stage 4 learner with an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP).

The Motiv8 School is a small specialist school in Sefton supporting young people aged 14–16, including learners with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

Many of our young people have experienced significant barriers to education and need adults around them who are consistent, patient and able to build genuine, trusting relationships. This is much more than simply supporting a pupil with their classroom work.

The role

Working for 30 hours per week during term time, you will provide consistent support to a young person to help them engage positively with education and make progress towards their EHCP outcomes.

Your role will include:

  • providing individualised support throughout the school day

  • developing a positive and trusting relationship with the young person

  • supporting emotional regulation and positive behaviour

  • helping the pupil engage with learning and overcome barriers to education

  • supporting academic, social and personal development

  • working closely with teachers, the SENDCo and wider school team

  • contributing to EHCP targets and recording progress

  • promoting independence, confidence and preparation for adulthood

  • maintaining clear professional boundaries and high safeguarding standards

Who are we looking for?

  • We are looking for someone who is calm, consistent, resilient and genuinely passionate about supporting young people.

  • Experience of working with young people with SEMH, SEND, behaviours that can challenge, trauma or disrupted educational experiences would be particularly valuable.

  • You might already be an experienced Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, youth worker, pastoral worker or have experience in another role supporting vulnerable young people.

More important than job titles, however, is your ability to build relationships while maintaining clear expectations and boundaries. You will need to be someone who does not give up easily when a young person finds education difficult.

What we can offer

At The Motiv8 School, you will work within a small and supportive specialist environment where staff have the opportunity to really get to know the young people they support.

We can offer:

  • 30 hours per week

  • term-time-only working

  • employer pension contribution

  • a small, supportive school environment

  • the opportunity to make a genuine difference to a young person's education and future

About The Motiv8 School

The Motiv8 School is entering a new chapter under its leadership team, led by Headteacher Jack Abraham and SENDCo / Assistant Headteacher Ashley Britton.

We are ambitious about strengthening our specialist provision and improving outcomes for young people with SEND and SEMH needs, helping them feel safe, build positive relationships, re-engage with education and experience success.

If you believe that relationships can change outcomes for young people, we would love to hear from you.
