Working Hours: flexible between the hours of 0715 and 1700. (Where possible hours will be advised and agreed with you in advance)
Starting salary: £14250.60

About us:
Pegasus School is an independent specialist day and residential school for young people aged 8 to 19 years with severe learning disabilities, autism and associated challenging behaviour. Many of our students also have mental health and therapy needs.
Students have personalised and individualized programmes, designed by a multi-disciplinary team of professionals to support the young person to make progress, develop skills and engage socially with others.
The Role:
You will be responsible for supporting the teacher with preparation, resources, display and general classroom duties, including the organisation and development of class planning. The role also includes teaching/instruction of small groups.
You will also act as a keyworker for day pupils, ensuring good communication with families, attendance at appropriate meetings and contributing (verbally and in writing) to reports and record keeping.
You may also be expected to support with offsite activities and to act in the role of carer at times, this includes supporting with personal care.
Experience in a similar role and Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification will be beneficial and due to our rural location access to own transport is essential.
