Job overview

We are seeking to appoint a full time specialist behaviour Teaching Assistant who will play a key role in supporting the inclusion, well-being and behaviour of the children across the school. This is a 1 year fixed term role.

Your opportunity

The successful candidate will support a range of children with different needs within the classroom setting, whilst collaborating with class teachers on appropriate behaviour strategies.

The role will be based across the school supporting various children with different needs and presenting with different behaviours in and out of the classrooms. 

The successful candidates will need to be able to work collaboratively and flexibly within our team, build good working relationships with both children and adults and demonstrate a respectful and caring attitude towards all our children. Excellent communication skills and an adaptable approach, the role requires a passionate attitude to making a positive impact.

Leadership at Chestnut Park School is strong with effective team working through active listening and collaborative ways of working. Every child is both challenged and inspired to achieve the highest standard of basic skills, whilst nurturing independent learners and thinkers.

What we are looking for

The successful candidate should:

• Be reliable, flexible, dynamic and motivated; 

• Be able to develop positive relationships with young children, promoting inclusion and high expectations of all children;

• Be able to stay calm and objective when presented with unusual or challenging behaviour

• Have demonstrable experience of working with children with diverse SEN, particularly being able to demonstrate various approaches to supporting need.

• Be enthusiastic and committed to working as part of a team whilst being able to work independently if / as required;

• Be a confident and clear communicator with parents;

• Have QLS TA / higher learning and GCSE Maths and English Grade C or above

The Details

Hours: 32.5 hours per week, 39 weeks per year; 1 year fixed term until August 2024.

Salary Range : Associate 3 FTE: £22,982.00 - £26,296.00 

Associate 3 Point 1 : Pro Rata: £17,849.10

Location Attracts Outer London Weighting: Pro Rata £499.39 (FTE : £643.00 per annum)
