We are looking to recruit a Teaching/Sports Assistant (Rugby Specialist). This post is for one academic year and would suit someone who is looking for work experience in a school with the possible aim of entering the teaching profession.
The Teaching Assistant role will report to the Head of KS3. Daily work will involve working closely with a number of pupils and the Head of Learning Skills (SenCo). The aim of this role is to develop an understanding of the educational needs of the pupils and facilitate their access to lessons.
The Sportsperson in Residence role will be managed by the Director of Sport. Candidates will be expected to offer games coaching skills in Rugby. Expertise and coaching qualifications in at least one other sport such as rowing, cricket, tennis and netball would be an advantage.
The post demands high levels of self-motivation, enthusiasm, commitment and the ability to actively encourage pupils to partake in a wide range of activities.
We offer excellent working conditions set in beautiful grounds. Single (shared) accommodation can be provided. You will be expected to be involved in activities outside of timetabled lessons and sports sessions plus play a full part in the busy life of this boarding school, which will include at least one evening per week and weekend duties. Terms are short and intense, and holidays long so that batteries can be recharged.
Closing date: 12:00 midday on 24th May 2019.
Interviews: w/c 3rd June 2019.
Please apply as soon as possible as applications will be considered upon receipt; we reserve the right to interview/appoint before the closing date.
