Overview of the role of Teaching Assistant:

· Mentoring, supporting and inspiring learners by supporting them with curriculum-based learning in the classroom, on home tuition and outreach and through outdoor activities.

· Assisting with the preparation of learning material and contributing to the delivery of learning objectives with a strong focus on behavioural management and emotional health assessment tools.

· Daily reports on learners’ progress and barriers to learning.

· Work collaboratively with members of SLT and Student Support & Intervention Mentor to support students and their parents.

· Interaction with parents/care givers on a regular basis.

We would love to hear from people who:

· Passionate champions of students with SEND

· At least two years’ experience minimum of working in a SEND environment

· Have strong English and Maths skills

· Would like the opportunity to support students outside of a mainstream environment

· Would like the opportunity to progress within the school and obtain career focused professional qualifications

· Actively contribute to school safeguarding and welfare procedures

Here at The Ryes College we really strive to understand the unique needs each of our pupils have and to develop an education package that meets these needs. Providing a safe space for those who have struggled in education, including those who have been excluded. A large number of our children have missed significant amounts of school education. We achieve this through personal development sessions, play, activities in the community and have a growing programme of offsite activities.
