We are seeking to appoint a committed and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our thriving school community and support the Faculty of English, Media and MFL. 

The role is a child facing one that will support all, but especially children with barriers to learning to make progress and develop. As such the successful candidate will also support the pastoral needs of our students, and work closely with the SEND department.

This is an ideal role for those who genuinely have a passion for helping children who experience barriers to learning. Our children come from a range of backgrounds and cultures and their needs are diverse. 

This role would suit someone with a desire to develop a career in education.

The Douay Martyrs Catholic Secondary School are currently recruiting for a dynamic, enthusiastic and passionate Teaching Assistant to join our welcoming and successful school. We are looking to appoint someone who is motivated to support engaging lessons that will stimulate and challenge students.  

The successful candidate will: 

  • Be aware of and support school ethos, policies and procedures. 
  • Assist in the delivery of the planned curriculum, as directed by classroom teacher. 
  • Set up group activities under the guidance of the Class Teacher / Subject Leaders. 
  • Working with students on individual or group activities. 
  • Provide support and assistance for children’s pastoral needs (e.g. promoting self-esteem, and overall well-being of the child) 
  • Where directed support the SEND department in promoting the best outcomes for our SEND students.
