Rosebery School is a highly successful, oversubscribed girls’ 11-18 school with over 1500 students, including nearly 300 in our vibrant Sixth Form, the pinnacle of the Rosebery Experience.

Tracing its roots back to the 1920s, Rosebery remains proud of its reputation for academic excellence and for championing girls’ education in Epsom and is now the only single sex secondary school for girls in Surrey.  We have a reputation for securing exceptional outcomes for our students and often rank in the top 5% of schools nationally, for both attainment and progress at GCSE and at A Level.

Our school is about far more than our students outstanding results in exams - we are committed to delivering a well rounded educational experience that develops the whole child, that builds character, that champions the arts, and perhaps above all else – is fun!  Through our ‘Distinctive Rosebery Education’, we pledge, and place at the heart of school life, 5 petals which speak to the virtues that we want every girl to develop: Civic Responsibility; Personal Integrity; Courageous Confidence; Intellectual Curiosity; and Empowered Ambition.

It’s important for you to know that at Rosebery we are unashamedly restless.  We are always thinking about what next, even better if, could we, should we…we must. Our staff are empowered and championed to teach and work with authority and freedom, underpinned by an acute moral purpose – each child only gets one chance at their Secondary education, it’s incumbent on us to make sure it’s the very best it can be. If you are driven to be the best, committed to getting the very best out of young people, someone who is brave, willing to get stuck in and to take a risk, Rosebery may well be the workplace you’ve been looking for.

Rosebery sits in the heart of Epsom, a thriving Surrey market town just a stone’s throw from London yet removed from the capital’s bustle. The town has excellent transport links (the train station, with direct lines to London, is only a ten‑minute walk from us) and offers a fantastic range of shops, restaurants, parks and a vibrant theatre.

Five reasons to join Rosebery:

1. Our Staff – We are an extremely committed, supportive, social and cohesive community. Mentors and coaches support colleagues personally and professionally both formally and informally.

2. Our Students - Our students are a joy to work with. They are proud of their achievements and aspirational for their future. Their behaviour is excellent, they are respectful and kind.

3. Our Culture - We know that our students have only one chance at their education and therefore it must be the very best it can be. We ensure that we prioritise joy and happiness for both staff and students. We are ambitious for our students and for each other, and we encourage a growth mindset which supports the development of resilience, perseverance and character and which challenges perfectionism.

4. Your Wellbeing - The Rosebery Wellbeing Way sits at the heart of our commitment to making colleagues’ wellbeing a genuine priority. Our approach includes a carefully planned calendar; dedicated ‘Rosebery Collaborates’ time for collaborative planning; term dates designed to support work–life balance; a culture that enables colleagues to attend important personal events; readily available tea and coffee, frequent staff treat days; actively encouraged flexible working; and access to an Employee Assistance Programme for all staff.

5. Your Professional Growth is extremely important to us – we have a bespoke professional learning programme comprising pedagogy and practice and leadership development; 1:1 coaching and access to the full suite of NPQ qualifications.  Promotion to leadership roles is based on talent, not experience and as a member of the GLF Schools Trust, there are regular opportunities for cross-school and cross-phase working, as well as access to a huge range of internal and external training opportunities through the dedicated GLF Professional Development team.
