Job overview
Teaching Assistant with Behaviour Responsibilities
Are you passionate about making a real difference in the lives of children and young people with special educational needs? We are looking for a committed, compassionate Teaching Assistant with specialist Behaviour Support responsibilities to join our dedicated team.
In this rewarding role, you will support pupils with a wide range of social, emotional, behavioural, and learning needs—helping them to access learning, build confidence, develop positive relationships, and feel safe, valued, and included. Working closely with teachers, therapists, and leaders, you will play a key role in creating a positive, engaging learning environment where every pupil can thrive.
Alongside classroom support, you will take on a specialist role in behaviour support, helping to promote consistent, trauma‑informed practice across the school. This includes supporting the development of individual behaviour plans, guiding staff in de‑escalation strategies, monitoring patterns of behaviour, and contributing to whole‑school approaches that build emotional resilience and independence.
Full training will be provided, with opportunities to develop further expertise in behaviour support, therapeutic approaches, and positive behaviour interventions.
