Are you looking to kickstart your career in the teaching profession? We are offering an exciting opportunity for aspiring teachers who are in their final year of study of an initial teacher qualification and are accredited at or eligible to be accredited at Conditional with NESA

 

We are offering a part-time, temporary teaching position for the 2023 school year. This role can be tailored to suit the needs of the applicant and ensure you are supported to maintain your study commitments.

SELECTION CRITERIA

 

Applicants must demonstrate and address the following Key Selection Criteria in 750 words or less:


  • A strong commitment to Catholic Education 


  • An ability to use effective learning and teaching strategies.


  •  An ability to facilitate a safe and supportive learning environment.


  • An ability to work collaboratively as a member of a team.


  • A willingness to learn and ongoing commitment to developing your teaching practice

Holy Spirit School is a mixed, non-selective, independent, Roman Catholic primary school in New South Wales, serving students from the age of 3-11. The primary school is situated in Lavington and has approximately 360 students on record and 25 members of staff. 

Holy Spirit School opened in 1970 and is considered as one of the best resourced in the region of New South Wales. The school is one of three Catholic primary schools in the town and enjoys a close partnership with Xavier High School. The school is renowned for its family atmosphere and enjoys a close partnership between staff, parents and students. It also has a strong association with Holy Spirit Parish, where students and staff regularly go to attend Mass.

Holy Spirit School offers a modern, contemporary learning space furnished with a range of open learning areas, flexible furniture and ICT equipment, including smartbooks, desktops, laptops and iPads. There is also a multi-purpose hall with a stage for productions and assemblies and spacious outside grounds with sports courts.

Curriculum

The Roman Catholic primary school offers a broad and balanced curriculum designed to inspire “powerful teaching and powerful learning.” The school encourage students to have a go and take risks, viewing them as a powerful learning tool. Dedicated teaching staff work to help encourage students to realise their full potential and develop their unique talents and skills.
