Job overview
The London Screen Academy is seeking a Teaching Practice Lead to cover the role during the autumn term 2025. This is a central role within the school, focused on developing and sustaining excellent classroom practice across all departments.
The Teaching Practice Lead will take a key role in leading whole-school strategies around pedagogy and planning. They will provide coaching to new and experienced teachers in order to development classroom practice, work closely with individual teachers and curriculum teams to implement effective planning and delivery models, and help to administer our programme of continuing professional development electives.
This role will suit someone with a clear vision for great teaching, strong interpersonal skills, and the capacity to lead through collaboration and modeling best practice.
This is an exciting role which is at the heart of what we do at LSA. The specific responsibilities will be agreed with the right candidate, and may vary considerably depending on the experience of the appointee.
- Lead on the continuing design and implementation of a new T&L deep dive programme
- Coordinate and participate in lesson drop-ins for all staff
- Analyse teaching and learning data and provide support and intervention where appropriate
- Oversee T&L observations as part of our process for teacher recruitment
- Provide increased coaching and planning support for new and early-career teachers
- Oversee the ‘professional studies’ induction programme for new teachers
- Oversee the experience of trainee teachers such as PGCE placement students or teachers on our
- industry convertor programme
- Expand and manage our coaching provision for new staff across departments
- Work with teams and individuals to refine day-to-day lesson planning
- Support departments to improve the integration of Knowledge, Skills and Behaviours (KSBs) into day-to-
- day delivery
- Offer dedicated planning support and quality assurance for the PSHCE curriculum and delivery
- Provide support in administering our CPD Electives programme
- Design and deliver CPD Electives on pedagogy and planning
