South Thames College are now looking for two Team Leaders to support colleagues in the curriculum team to raise the quality of education for all provision.

Leading on a theme or priority within the area as agreed with the Deputy Head of School/Head of School, you will monitor academic staff teaching on qualifications within the Community Learning team and ensure that all qualifications meet the needs, standards and requirements of all partners, including the Borough, Awarding Bodies and employers. As Team Leader, you will support subject Lecturers within the team to prioritise and meet deadlines and carry out lesson visits / learning walks, supporting staff in developmental and performance processes.

To join us as Team Leader, you will hold a Degree or relevant professional qualification in an appropriate subject and have excellent teaching skills, recognised as a good or better teacher. Hardworking and flexible, you will have current knowledge of impending curriculum changes and the implications for teaching and learning strategies and have experience of successfully monitoring and supporting ‘at-risk’ learners to achieve or exceed their potential. Experience of managing, supporting and developing staff is desirable.

A teaching qualification is not essential; however, we do ask that you are willing to achieve one in line with current regulations.
