Up to 10 Month Fixed Term Contract


The English, Maths and Employability Team has been established at Kingston College to enable all GCSE’s and Functional Skills to be taught in a single department. 


Joining us as Team Leader, you will ensure the quality of teaching delivered to students studying GCSE Maths and Functional Skills Maths is of the highest standard and ensure that all the Maths qualifications meet the needs, standards and requirements of all partners, including awarding bodies, employers and higher education institutions.


Co-ordinating the Schemes of Work and Assessment Schedules, you will manage the curriculum area Self-Assessment and staff development and take part in lesson observations including supporting staff in the capability process. You will also teach on Maths qualifications delivered within the Team.


Are you recognised as a good or better teacher? Do you have excellent teaching skills in at least one Maths qualification taught within 6th Form? Do you have experience of leading / managing A Level Maths, GCSE Maths and/or Functional Skills Maths? If so, we’d be delighted to hear from you!


Hardworking and flexible, you will have current knowledge of impending curriculum changes and the implications for teaching and learning strategies and have experience of successfully monitoring and supporting ‘at-risk’ learners to achieve or exceed their potential. We’d like you to have good planning, preparation, organisational and administrative skills and be able to work well under pressure and to agreed deadlines. You’ll need to have experience of managing, supporting and developing staff and have a thorough understanding of quality assurance and improvement processes and how these can be used to enhance the student experience.
