We are looking for a Technical Educational Assistant (Science) in our Secondary Department.

The job

The Technical Education Assistant for science is a member of the school’s support staff (OOP). The Technical Education Assistant position involves a combination of tasks to support student development in science. The Education Assistant provides support for teachers within the science classroom setting and may work with individual and/or groups of students.

Key expectations for this role:

  • Carrying out assignments which assist the teachers in the science department;
  • Supporting students during practical lessons;
  • Working collaboratively with other Technical Educational Assistants to maintain the science laboratories;
  • Knowledge of the theory and practicals of science laboratories;
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and skilled in working safely with groups of students;
  • Experience and skilled in working with students;
  • Flexibility and ability to adapt to daily routines and needs of the teacher and student teams;
  • Skilled in assisting teachers with the practical preparation of lessons and with compiling assignments;
  • Confident and proactive approach;
  • Able to work collaboratively;
  • High standard of professionalism;
  • Be committed to international-mindedness and the ISE Guiding Statements;
  • Knowledge of and a commitment to teaching the curriculum of the IB Middle Years and IB Diploma programmes.

Requirements for teaching positions at the ISE are, eligible to work in the EU, relevant qualification and/or experience, good command of spoken and written English, able to work collaboratively within a team.
