About the role:

We are seeking an excellent Technician to provide technical support, assistance and advice to the staff and students in our Performing Arts Department. You will work alongside students and staff on all aspects of theatre and music production including equipment use, lighting, sound, projection and music technology. You will be responsible for setting up and dismantling audio / visual and lighting equipment in the Dance, Drama and Music studios in preparation for teaching as required and to provide technical assistance during exam and public performances including set and theatre preparation, pre-show rigging, lighting, sound and show operation.

About you:

You will have previous experience in the operation and maintenance of the full range of theatre equipment, including lighting and sound desks, communication systems, projection and audio / visual equipment.  You will have experience of, or a willingness to undertake training in the use of specialist software such as Sibelius, Logic Gold and Final Cut Pro. You will have an understanding of an educational environment and the needs of the 16 – 19 age range and the technical expertise to rig and operate dance, drama and music performances.
