We’re now looking for a Technician / Instructor to maintain the equipment and fittings of the Media studios.
The majority of your time will be spent as a Technician; preparing equipment and materials for use in bookings, classrooms, workshops, studios and resource centres. You will maintain stock levels and any associated records, reporting the need for purchases and effecting orders for materials and equipment as approved. Your time spent as an Instructor will include training students in studios or edit suites, with or without a member of lecturing staff present. You will work with students in Open Access facilities, guiding them in the use of equipment and in sourcing information. You will assess student achievement against specific criteria and adopt procedures and practices to create a safe, orderly working environment.
Our Commercial and Service Industries require a suitably qualified and experienced Technician/Instructor competent in all aspects of Media, including managing and maintaining a multi-camera TV studio, sound booth, control room and edit suites. You will also be proficient in using lighting, sound and a range of broadcast cameras and film grip equipment along with strong video and audio editing skills and a good understanding of VFX’s and graphics for moving image.
