As Technician, you will prepare equipment and materials for use in bookings, classrooms, workshops, studios and resource centres and maintain stock levels and any associated records. You will organise and undertake routine checks to ensure compliance with Health & Safety regulations and film and produce marketing material, working from the College’s guidelines. You will also manage the media inventory, maintain supplier relationships and research and develop the departments production capabilities.
The Instructing side of the role means you’ll train students in studios or edit suites in the acquisition of specified vocational skills; training to include both group demonstration of techniques and assisting with individual students. You’ll work with students in Open Access facilities, guiding them in the use of equipment and in sourcing information, and assess student achievement against specific criteria.
We’re looking for a suitably qualified and experienced Technician / Instructor who is competent in all aspects of Media, including managing and maintaining a multi-camera TV studio, sound booth, control room and edit suits. You’ll need to be proficient in using lighting, sound and a range of broadcast cameras and film grip equipment and have strong video and audio editing skills coupled with a good understanding of VFX’s and graphics for moving image.
