Here at Carshalton College, we are now looking for an experienced Technician/Instructor who is competent in all aspects of Media. You’ll be managing and maintaining a multi-camera TV studio, sound booth, control room and edit suites. You will assist and support academic staff during formal classes and instruct, supervise or assess individual students or groups of students with or without a member of teaching staff present.


We’re looking for an individual who has formal technical and/or educational qualification in a relevant subject and who has knowledge of, and a genuine interest in, the area of work appropriate to the post. We’d like you to be a proficient user of Premiere CC, After Effects, Photoshop, Animate CC, Illustrator and Maya, and have the ability to troubleshoot mac hardware and software, particularly Creative Cloud and Maya.


Our Technician/Instructor should be able to operate and have knowledge of DSLR, camcorder and broadcast cameras, and be comfortable working with sound recorders, microphones, and boom poles. You’ll have technical problem-solving skills in audio and video equipment, signal routing and signal conversion, and have experience of lighting, sound and version mixing including green screen, bugs, dve and keys.
