Job overview

ART, DRAMA, DESIGN TECHNOLOGY TECHNICIANS

Part-time or Full-time

From April/September 2023

Cranmore is at an exciting stage in its development with a growing Senior School. There is three to four form entry from Year 7. Our first Year 10 will start their GCSE course in September 2023 taking their public examinations in summer 2025.

Cranmore has a wide and enriching curriculum supported by outstanding facilities. It is a very exciting time for the Creative Arts and Design Technology at Cranmore as we grow our school to deliver GCSE in each subject. Following the opening of the new Science and Technology block, which includes a purpose built DT room, the Art Department will expand to two purposeful classrooms with space for the new GCSE students to work independently. The Drama studio was refurbished in 2020-21 and the department delivers performances throughout the year with one whole school production per academic year. The Good Schools Guide says ‘Every parent believes their child is exceptional – at Cranmore they can be’.

This is an excellent opportunity for enthusiastic individuals to join us as technicians to support our Art, Drama and Design Technology Departments. The roles and responsibilities below include those across all three departments; however, we will consider any combination of skills, qualifications and experience across the three disciplines to ensure that we recruit talented and dedicated specialists.

Cranmore presents a thoroughly up-to-date  and superbly equipped independent school on a magnificent 25 acre campus in the heart of Surrey.  Having taught pupils to the age of 13 for 50 years, in September 2019, Cranmore joined the Effingham Schools Trust resulting in the widening of the provision to offer education for pupils age 2 to 18.

The Trust’s diamond model will offer the benefits of the co-ed classroom to very young pupils, the benefits of the single sex classroom in later prep and secondary years, before finally returning to co-education at 6th Form.  This method reflects and acknowledges that girls and boys approach their learning in different ways as they develop.

Cranmore has a wonderful 25 acre site and is blessed with fantastic facilities including a brand new Science and Technology Centre, dedicated music and sports buildings, swimming pool, ICT suites and a Forest School. Combined with its sister school, St. Teresa’s, the Trust has 1,000 pupils and £20m+ assets. There are exciting plans for new capital development as the Trust grows to 1,200 pupils over the next few years.

Cranmore is proud of its reputation as a leading independent school with all round excellence across a broad curriculum enriched with co-curricular activities. We are excited to be expanding our education and invite you to learn more on our website: www.cranmore.org
