Job overview

We are seeking to appoint a talented colleague to join our Technology Department and lead on the teaching of Product Design.

All students in Key Stage 3 enjoy Technology as part of their core curriculum, and it is delivered via a carousel consisting of Product Design, Food Technology and Textiles across an academic year. In Key Stage 4 Food and Nutrition and Product Design are both offered at GCSE, and are popular options with a good uptake of students, in both Year 10 and Year 11.

The Technology Department benefits from some beautiful and well-resourced classrooms including a large student workshop, Textiles Room and Food technology suite, as well as computer suites and staff preparation areas and high-quality equipment to aid in teaching and learning.

Students enjoy their timetabled Technology lessons, but we also complement and enrich their experiences through trips, workshops, projects collaborative experiences, displays and extra-curricular and enrichment opportunities.

The Archbishop Lanfranc Academy is a truly unique institution: we are a modern, vibrant community and yet one with a long and historic tradition of educating students from the three London boroughs on whose crossroads we sit- Croydon, Merton and Sutton. In our various incarnations we are an educational establishment that has been around since 1931.

We pride ourselves on being a truly diverse and welcoming Academy with a genuinely international perspective, whilst also being at the heart of our local community; with excellent transport links, via tram or bus, students are able to travel easily to our gates.

No one who steps across our threshold fails to be impressed by the dedication and commitment of our entire community to realising our vision “to be an outstanding learning community where every individual is enabled to achieve their true potential”.
