Job overview

You will be joining a welcoming and supportive faculty which ensures our students are inspired to achieve their full potential in all technology subjects.

You will have:

  • successful experience of working with young people.
  • the ability to lead small groups and provide support to students in the classroom under the direction of the Head of Technology Faculty.  
  • experience of working in a workshop, using and maintaining hand and machine tools.
  • experience of using a range of materials including timber, metals and plastics.

The position is for 37 hours per week, for 43 weeks per year (term-time, five whole school closure days and twenty days to be worked during school holiday periods). You will work from Monday to Friday from 8.00/8.30am until 4.00/4.30pm with a 30-minute break. 

The starting NJC point offered to the successful candidate will depend on knowledge, skills and experience and is expected to be within the salary range of NJC points 11 to 17 which is £22,129 to £24,920 per annum pro rata, actual salary for 43 weeks per year on point 11 is £20,612 per annum which includes pro rata pay for 33 days holiday per year (including statutory and concessionary days) rising to 37 after five years and immediate membership of the Local Government Pension Scheme. Continuity of service will be recognised for local government employees.
