Barnsley Academy is part of United Learning, a large and growing group of schools aiming to offer a life changing education to children and young people across England. Schools within United Learning work as a team and achieve more by sharing than any single school could. By collecting expertise and combining resources, we help to make the tough job of teaching a little easier. With a shared curriculum and lesson plans from around the group available to all, our teachers have strong foundations to lead the engaging, rounded education our children deserve.
Our intranet site, United Hub, is just one example of how we share this resource and communicate across sites, helping to simplify processes and manage workloads for an improved work-life balance. We reward our staff: with wide career opportunities – between Primary and Secondary, Academy and Independent – better pay, benefits, and ultimately the satisfaction of helping every child at each of our schools to succeed and reach their full potential.
We are looking to recruit a strong Technology specialist to teach across Key Stage 3 and 4. We would welcome applications from both experienced practitioners and NQT’s. Applications are welcomed from teachers within all aspects of Technology teaching, with those with an Engineering specialism desirable. This post is advertised specifically on a part time basis, three days per week.
We are seeking a driven, dedicated teacher who will engage, enthuse and challenge students to achieve their best. Our ideal candidate will be a creative thinker and possess the ability to develop innovative teaching strategies in order to inspire our students and help them to foster a love of Technologies.
Barnsley Academy is a rapidly improving school, the successful candidate will be joining us at an exciting time in our development following our Progress 8 score which showed the Academy as the most improved in Barnsley. Our recent September 2018 Ofsted report also highlighted significant improvements from our previous inspection. The department is ambitious and we know that we have the skills, drive and support to provide an outstanding learning experience for our students. The department is currently progressing from strength to strength and we are confident that outcomes will improve again this year.
Applicants are encouraged to visit to the academy before applying, please contact Karen Jones, PA on 01226 574168 or firstname.lastname@example.org to arrange a visit.
“We pledge that each of our students will receive personalised support to ensure that each one of them is able to make the progress that they are capable of with no excuses at any level”
