New Rickstones Academy is graded ‘Good’ (May 2018) and has a state of the art new building offering fantastic facilities for both students and staff. Over the last 7 years the academy has seen a huge increase in student numbers, with the number of students on roll more than doubling. The academy is now oversubscribed and our new build, which opened September 2022 further to meet this demand. New Rickstones Academy is a great place to work with a friendly and supportive staff team. Staff numbers have also increased and the academy is proud to boast high staff retention rates. Staff development is a priority with an extensive and hugely successful CPD (Continuing Professional Development) program to further develop our excellent staff. 

We are looking for a Technology Technician to support classroom teachers in the raising of standards and achievement of the technology department. This role will be supporting both food lessons and resistant materials lessons as well as helping in the Art department if required. You will prepare resources, equipment and ingredients, assist with practical lessons and undertake cleaning to maintain high hygiene standards. You will also monitor resources, equipment and ingredients, keep accurate records, place orders, and provide general administrative support to the teachers.

You will be a fast learner and able to organise your workload, working to deadlines under pressure. You will have good IT skills. plus excellent communication and interpersonal skills. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who thrives in a busy and varied role. 

This role is 30 hours per week across 5 days, 39 working weeks. Exact working hours are to be agreed but are between 815am and 345pm, based on when practical lessons are timetabled. The role is due to start as soon as possible.

New Rickstones Academy is a secondary school based in Witham.  This is an exciting time to join New Rickstones Academy as we continue to expand.
