Hours:                                               5 day per week- 30-35 hours per week.

                                                           Term time plus one week (39 weeks of the year)

Purpose of the role: To provide a full and comprehensive administrative service to the school

Stamford Welland Academy (SWA) is a good school (OFSTED 2019) and is relentless in its pursuit to become outstanding. The successful applicant will be working with pupils of all ages between KS3 to KS4 and will be responsible for assisting with the supply and preparation of resources in the classroom environment. This will consist of working across Food, Technology & Art/Photography.

The role involves demonstrating effective organisational skills and knowledge in order to plan and organise students in the preparation of a range of activities. The Technician will be responsible for ensuring all pupils work safely in accordance with hygiene regulations & Health & safety, whilst assisting the pupils with tasks that require direction and support. This is a hands-on role including setting up classrooms and cleaning up afterwards. The technician role involves some student contact. This role is instrumental in supporting the class teacher in ensuring everything in for Food/Art or Tech rooms is ready ahead of lessons so that no time is wasted and all lessons run to schedule.

Ofsted report

At our latest Ofsted inspection, we were judged as ‘Good’ in all areas. The report published in September 2021 heaped praise on our leadership team and followed our impressive Key Stage 4 results which were also the best results the school has ever recorded.

The inspectors said: “Leaders have done much to improve the school, including the quality of education. They have set high expectations of pupils’ behaviour and attitudes to learning. They have strengthened relationships with the local community. These improvements have led to more parents wanting to send their children here.

“Pupils study a broad range of subjects. In key stage 4, they are encouraged to study subjects that leaders believe will help pupils in the future. As a result, there has been a large increase in the number of pupils who study languages. Leaders make ambitious decisions about the curriculum which are in the best interests of the pupils. For example, they have changed how pupils study the different subjects in Years 7 and 8 to address previous underachievement at the end of key stage 4.”
