Applications are invited from suitably qualified & experienced teachers for the following positions: 

Temporary Full Time Teacher the 2019 school year 


Applicants must: 

  • Have a commitment to the practice of the Catholic faith and appropriate Religious Education qualifications; 
  • Have a knowledge of and commitment to the Catholic ethos and mission of the school;
  • Have an understanding of contemporary pedagogy and the ability to differentiate and provide for a diverse range of ability 
  • Have effective classroom practice that fosters independent learners
  • Demonstrate highly effective classroom management skills with an understanding and appreciation of Restorative Practices 
  • Be willing to work co-operatively and contribute positively as part of a professional learning community 
  • Be able to creatively use ICT to enhance a rich learning environment 
  • Be willing to teach any class level from K-6
  • Have a current NSW Working with Children Check 
  • hold current NESA Teacher Accreditation (with a minimum conditional or provisional accreditation status) 


Please nominate three (3) referees, one of whom is the Parish Priest from your usual place of worship.

About St Carthage’s Primary School LISMORE

St Carthage’s Primary School is a Catholic primary school, located in Lismore in New South Wales, catering to students from kindergarten to Year 6.  Established in 1886 with an enrolment of 70 students by the Presentation Sisters, the school is now one of the largest primary schools in the Lismore Diocese. The Marist Brothers were also involved with the school from 1911 to 1996.

St Carthage’s has 24 recently refurbished classrooms equipped with computers and a majority with air conditioning. The library is modern and thoroughly resourced with networked PCs. The school also has a special ed unit, a new school hall, music tuition and a bank of musical instruments, and spacious grounds with ovals, playground equipment and a new sand pit.

Curriculum

The curriculum at St Carthage’s provides comprehensive learning programs based on the Board of Studies and Teaching and Educational Standards (BOSTES) syllabuses for primary education. The Key Learning Areas taught are mathematics, English, science and technology. Other subject areas include HSIE, creative arts and personal development, health and PE.
