Joining us as Temporary Head of Finance (Maternity cover), you will be responsible for: managing and overseeing the work of the College Finance team. To work with VP Resources to maintain, develop and improve financial accounting and financial management systems and information.  To take the lead for financial forecasting and reports, internal budget management, overseeing financial control procedures and producing (with guidance from VP Resources) the annual budget and accounts.  Responsible for a range of associated Finance responsibilities including: Procurement, VAT, Insurance and Risk management. To contribute to the financial plan, ensuring that any key assumptions included in medium term financial planning and annual budgets are robust and appropriate.  To provide advice to all managers concerning financial planning and budget setting. You will manage the main finance office and associated finance staff, ensuring that key everyday finance functions operate efficiently and effectively.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, resilient and highly motivated individual with Literacy and Numeracy to at least Level 2,Possess a degree (or equivalent), Full CCAB qualified member of a professional accountancy body.

You must be able to demonstrate a commitment to continued professional development for self and others and have held a financial management post in a complex organisation for a minimum of three years.  You will be experienced and be a strong team player with excellent communication skills.

Tameside College is a coeducational further education establishment. It is situated in the town of Ashton-under-Lyne, in Lancashire. It gives students a range of qualifications to choose from. This includes BTEC, Apprenticeships and degrees. The college also manages and owns Clarendon Sixth Form College, Camp Street, Ashton under Lyne, Lancashire OL6 6DF.
