The Academy
Nunthorpe is a very popular outstanding co-educational 11 – 19 comprehensive converter Academy with approximately 1600 students on roll.
Nunthorpe Academy is the lead Teaching School in the North East Schools Teaching Alliance – NESTA. Through this ‘school led’ system of self-improvement we focus on the key areas of School to School Support; Professional Development; Specialist Leaders of Education and Initial Teacher Training & Succession Planning

The Department
We are a large, experienced and established department with 9 full time and 1 part time teachers, 1 School Sports Co-ordinator and also 1 full time Faculty Support Assistant.
The department offers A-Level PE (OCR), GCSE PE (OCR), Level 2 V-Cert Health and Fitness (NCFE), Sports Leaders and core PE.
The Candidate
We require an energetic, inspirational and talented teacher. The successful candidate will have the capacity to lead and inspire. They will be able to demonstrate excellence in teaching and learning and will have a proven track record of improving outcomes for students. The successful candidate will be able to teach PE across the range of age and ability - Key Stages 3-5 with a passion for football, rugby and basketball. You will also be responsible for a tutor group and have an examination PE group. You must have a commitment to extra-curricular sport and a passion to drive boys PE forward.
