Job overview
We are looking to appoint an experienced, talented and enthusiastic Teacher of Textiles to lead the subject in this high-performing school. This vacancy has arisen due to the retirement of the current post-holder. We would consider applications from candidates who are able to work on either a full time or part time basis.
Applications are equally welcome from newly qualified teachers (for whom statutory induction would be provided) or from more experienced applicants.
The successful candidate will teach students through the Senior School from Year 7 to Upper Sixth and must have the capacity or potential to teach Fashion and Textiles to A Level. The successful candidate will be able to communicate a clear passion for the subject to pupils throughout the Senior School and be willing to engage students in a wide variety of extra-curricular activities designed to inspire a love of Textiles. The subject has a strong record of success in national competitions such as the annual Festival of Quilts competition and various fashion design competitions including, Wool4school, The Clothes Show and Young Craftsman of the Year. Pupils taking the subject at A Level have taken up places on highly competitive university courses.
