Textiles Teacher

Northwood College is looking for a Textiles Teacher to join our leading academic day school and to be part of an exceptionally creative, warm and supportive community.  

We are looking for candidates who can teach Art and Design Textiles up to A level. 

The successful candidate will be a team player, committed and passionate about Textiles and the education of the girls in their care and will have the drive and motivation to go above and beyond.  

The Department:

The Textiles Department has two full timers including the Head of Department and one-part timer and a textiles technician. The Textile rooms are vibrant and inspiring learning environments, fully equipped and recently fitted out with tailor made work stations. 

In Textiles, pupils develop creative and practical techniques and technical knowledge, preparing them to participate in a world of rapidly changing creative arts and technologies. They learn to be creative and imaginative in solving problems, developing invaluable life skills. Textiles is incredibly popular at both GCSE with two groups in Year 10 and three groups in Year 11 this year. At both GCSE and A level we follow the Art and Design: Textile Design AQA Examination Board. Year on year grades have been outstanding in this subject. Girls have also been very successful at A level, gaining prestigious places to study Fashion at Central St Martins and The London College of Fashion.
