The Portsmouth Grammar School is a leading co-educational school located in the historic heart of Portsmouth.

PGS has an excellent reputation for Drama and superb facilities including a modern and versatile theatre space. In addition productions are staged at The Kings Theatre in Southsea and the New Theatre Royal in Portsmouth. Drama is a popular subject at GCSE, A Level, IB and in the Junior School. 

The Theatre Technician post provides varied creative and development opportunities for a candidate who can offer a high level of technical skill together with excellent organisation and communication skills.

This is a full time post, 37.5 hours per week Monday - Friday for 43 weeks per year (term time plus some work in the holidays).

The post-holder will be required to work flexibly, to include evenings and some weekends, to support the needs of the school. The pro-rata annual salary for this post will be £21,485 based on the full time equivalent of £25,983.

The interview date will be 13 July 2017.

A DBS check at enhanced level will be required.

ISI Report 2022

During an ISI Inspection in late 2022 both the achievement of the pupils, including their academic development and the personal development of the pupils were found to be excellent - the highest possible classification. The Inspection also looked at the School’s compliance with the regulatory standards and requirements. PGS met all the standards required.
