The role
Ibstock Place School wishes to ensure that its technical theatre team is able to support a variety of Dance, Drama, and Music productions, as well as a variety of other school activities which involve the use of out Theatre. Working under the Technical Theatre Manager, the person appointed to this role will have a critical role to play in ensuring that this happens. The successful candidate will have a background in technical theatre and/or lighting design.
Key responsibilities
•Applies to all in-house performances and events to set up and operate lighting, sound and multimedia equipment;
•To undertake all practical work in relation to get-ins, fit ups, strikes and get-outs including the assembly, rigging, adjustment and use of scenery, props, rigging and lifting, sound and lighting equipment and special effects.
•To assist staff and pupils with sound recording, filming, editing and production of performances for assessments;
•To assist Dance, Drama and Music staff and pupils in Performing Arts competitions as above;
•To be available to work regular weekends and evenings.
This is a term time only role, Monday to Friday, 8am to 4:30pm, with a six months probationary period.
The salary for this role is £31,554 (pro rata £25,000).
