We have an exciting opportunity for an outstanding and experienced teacher with the skills, knowledge and passion to contribute to the strategic and operational development of teaching, learning and assessment practice across the Derby College Group.  We are looking for someone who has the tenacity, creativity and skills to translate ideas into practice to innovate teaching, learning and assessment.  You will play a key role in leading the development and implementation of effective digital learning pedagogies to expand and cement digital learning across the Group as well as planning and implementing strategies to support 'learning beyond the classroom', including use of Libraries for learning. 


Reporting to the Director of Teaching, Learning and Academic Research, you will support the creation of a culture and ethos of challenge and support in developing our professional educators, so that our students are engaged, challenged and achieve their potential.  You will be a life-long learner, confident with driving forward technology-enhanced learning, passionate about the value of education, and inspire the same in others.  You will have strong communicative and presentational skills to inspire innovative change and development of professional practice to ensure excellent outcomes for our students.  This post is an ideal opportunity for career development for educational professionals, including outstanding teachers, advanced practitioners, teaching and learning coaches or learning technologists.  If you have the relevant skills, knowledge and enthusiasm, we want to hear from you.

Derby College is a large general further education college with four sites in or near the city of Derby. It supports around 26,000 learners, who choose from more than 1,000 full-time and part-time apprenticeship, A-level, BTEC and NVQ courses.   

Derby College was established as a single institution in 2002 by merging three further education colleges: Mackworth Tertiary College, Wilmorton Tertiary College and Broomfield Agricultural College. A merger between South East Derbyshire College and Derby College was approved in 2010. Heavy investment has been made by the college in its teaching and learning facilities, from the fully equipped teaching kitchens at the Roundhouse campus to the high-tech science labs at the Joseph Wright Centre and the Equestrian Centre at the Broomfield Hall campus.
